Hi everyone. i tutor a little girl who has a very difficult time
differentiating among the short vowel sounds. (I read pin and she
can't tell me which vowel it is.) She actually reads well, but her
spellin needs help. I am using the Orten-Gillingham system. Any
suggestions on different ways to help here learn her short vowel
sounds?

Before dealing with dyslexia I'd get her to an audiologist for a hearing
test.

Yeah, take professional advice from an audiologist or audiological
scientist.
