Hello
In January 28th of 2005 i was hospitalised with ideopatic (or autoimmune)
trombocitopenic purpura. Someone can tell me what are the causes of this
disease?
Thanks

Ana.. I''m not a physician. I think an autoimmune condition is likely
to be the cause. There's so many autoimmune diseases that it takes an
expert in the field to identify which condition might be the cause.

THE NUMBER ONE PIECE OF ADVICE IS DO NOT CONSULT NEWSGROUPS FOR
QUALIFIED MEDICAL ADVICE, VISIT A DOCTOR, NOTHING YOU READ IN HERE
SHOULD BE TAKEN AS AN AUTHORITATIVE ANSWER, THE MOST IT SHOULD BE TAKEN
AS IS PERHAPS A GUIDE IN YOUR RESEARCH.

In your case, looking will be hard without proper spelling. read on for
some basic information.

Idiopathic thrombocytopaenic purpura, a chronic auto-immune
thrombocytopaenia of insidious onset

without any identifiable antecedent

or associated illness, which typically affects young and middle aged
adults, predominantly women (3F : 1 M)

Conditions associated with secondary auto-immune thrombocytopaenia.
..

1.
Other auto-immune disease
Blood eg; Evan's syndrome
Generalized eg; SLE, rheumatoid arthritis
Organ-specific eg; thyroid
..
2. Lymphoproliferative disorders
Chronic lymphatic leukaemia
Lymphoma
..
3. Cancer
Solid tumours
..
4. Immune system imbalance
HIV infection
Chemo- / radiotherapy
Bone marrow transplantation
..
5. Post-viral infection

Being diagnosed with ideopathic AIT certainly won't tell you the cause,
only a careful doctor with excellent diagnostic skills can potentially
answer that question.

Better than knowing the cause is knowing how to live with it. From what
I read, boxing for fun is out.
