From: coline3bettson on 22 Dec 2007 20:03 yikes - what a way to introduce myself. I will try again. I am Coline, a 57 year old woman from Manitoba, Canada. I see a dietitian in the new year, but until then, want to begin eating correctly. I understand there are weekly diet plans that address both fat / salt /sodium, but so far, have had little luck finding them. For example, some sites say " no broccoli ! " Thank you for any help.

He was a kidney researcher for Johns Hopkins for 45 years. It has an extremely low protein diet that should help delay the progress toward dialysis. While my CKD is not polycystic, that type is mentioned in a case history in the book. Check with your nephrologist, though many of them are not familiar with the diet. It is critical that if you go on this diet, that you take Essential Amino acids (EAA) with it to give your body the protein it needs in a different form. The book mentions the EAA and 2 places you can get them. The book can be obtained from amazon.com for about $7.50US. Look for 'used' books, though they're not really used. Chris
