My nephew and godson, Michael, really needs prayers sent his way.
Michael is 42 and has dealt with a terrible illness all his life. (i'm
not going to name the illness here because i don't want Michael to be
indentifiable if anyone does an internet search on this illness). The
condition causes tumors to form in various organs and affects the skin
horribly which adds a social stigma to the whole situation. in
addition, he was diagnosed last year with RA. because of the illness,
he can't do many of the dmards. when he was about 14, they found a
tumor in his brain and shunts were inserted on either side of his
head. the tumor seemed to go away over time, according to one cat
scan, but that was apparently not the case. a new cat scan shows that
it's gotten quite large (still benign) and appears to be inoperable.
one doctor referred to it as a time bomb because of its location. if
it grows or shifts it will impinge on memory and mobility-- yet it
can't be removed. imagine living this way! his neurosurgeon is right
now consulting with the team that did ted kennedy's surgery to get
their input. my hope is that they will see a way to operate with some
measure of safety. michael's handling this as well as can be expected--
better than i'd be handling it, i think. please hold him in your
thoughts.

thanks, diane

Absolutely will put him on my prayer list. This poor guy has dealt with
so much that it's his turn to get a break.

Oh, dear. sending out many prayers for Michael. I've known inoperable
tumors to become operable through prayer assaults.

It sounds like Michael is a strong person.
