Yeah, it looks that way. I guess that's kind of a good thing? Not so
many people depressed?

So where do people go for support now?

Frankly, I don't know. Since depression often impacts on marriage, there
are a few depressed people on AS.marriage. There are a few blogs and
forums - they seem to have taken the place of newsgroups. That may be what
was meant by Web 2 (and now Web 3.) Personally, I am doing more giving
than seeking these days. My depression is pretty well under control,
although it will never be completely cured. The places I tend to frequent
are for males.

Try the Depression Support Alliance http://www.dbsalliance.org/
DepNet (Australian) http://www.depnet.com.au/
The Black Dog Institute Australia http://www.blackdoginstitute.org.au/
or the Australian Government's "initiative": http://www.beyondblue.org.au/

Sorry, I have very few links outside Oz. You may find some on my Links
page: http://members.iinet.com.au/~tomlai1/links.htm but I haven't checked
or updated it for a while.

There is a Podcast by the Depression is Real Coalition:
http://www.depressionisreal.org/ which has other resources. I am taking an
RSS feed from http://www.healthcentral.com/depression/

You will probably remember Nom de Plume, Grace. He has written a book on
medications. It is online at http://www.mentalmeds.org/ , or you can buy
a hard copy at amazon.com.

HTH,

Doug.

Hi :). I do occasionally look in here, but there has been so little
legitimate traffic that I don't do a lot of it.

Hi Nom. I don't look in that often, either, but suddenly remembered that I
hadn't checked for a reply. There are a few depressed people on
alt.support.marriage at the moment, but wanting advice, not meds.

Do you remember Grace? She has changed her username, but not her address.

Doug.

If they change their mind, you can send them my way :).

I remember Grace. She is definitely one of the kinder people around these
parts.
