From: astri on 6 Aug 2008 18:09 anyone have any comments about taking a low dose of trazodone for sleep difficulties. i'm especially concerned about whether it might make me gain weight. i absolutely refuse to take any medication that will make me gain weight. the information i've seen suggests that trazodone can have both effects (weight loss or weight gain) with a slightly higher percentage of folks reporting weight loss than weight gain, but the percentages in the controlled studies look pretty similar. the pdoc suggested there is a dose-dependent impact, with low doses less likely to impact weight, but i can't find anything that gives any information about that either way. thanks. -- astri

Nor can I. Weight changes seem to be greater on trazadone than placebos, but increase and decrease seem to be equally likely.
