From: Alan B. Mac Farlane on 17 Jun 2008 08:59 (this is from my doctor/friend in the UK, she is some board member of some Royal College of Medicine) homeopathy question darling for Fucus Vesicularis I heard of this on the thyroid support group I am in. They think this is good stuff for me ... or people having thyroid trouble in low doses. ////// It's generally prescribed in homoeopathy for sluggish hypothyroid patients, often helps them lose weight. That would be low potency every day, sort of prescription. I wouldn't have thought of that really for you, because you're anything but fatly dozy! But I consulted my trusty pendulum, and it seems to indicate that a very high potency would be indicated for you. I'll check it out properly (with your hair) later & let you know what I come up with.
From: Gail on 18 Jun 2008 08:04 Interesting Alan, In homoeopathy, in general the approach for supporting the body in correcting hormones is: low potency stimulates, medium potency balances, high potency depresses - but it always needs to be adjusted according to individual variability. When the potency is very low, almost to the point of being mother tincture strength, the remedy is supposed to act as organ support rather than treating the entire individual. Sometimes people are sick because one of their body organs are sick. Othertimes the whole person is sick and the sickness is expressed through the weakest organ. The first approach needs an organ support remedy and the second needs what is called a constitutional remedy. You've probably posted what's happening with your thyroid before I joined the group - any chance you'd talk about it again - I'd love to compare it with your friend's pendulum answer. Gail.

In the past I took a LOT of homeopathy 'sulfur' to take out heavy metals in my body. Worked real well. I also took some homeopathy 'bat spit' for a while. Pretty neat stuff. This new stuff, curious to find out where they got this Fucus Vesicularis stuff, maybe a 'horse tail' cure from ancient history. Since I have a personality that is determined to be free of my disease, and will take anything and use it for medicine ... instead of running away from it ... I use the homeopathy for my healing and recovery. I am impressed with it ... or maybe I should be impressed with me. Dunno ... it works great in getting stuff done in the system, and it seems to be rather agreeable to the defense structure if one uses it properly. All my best, always. Alan

From: Gail on 19 Jun 2008 05:32 Fucus Vesicetc is the other name for the plant Bladderwrack which is a seaweed. It's naturally high in iodine and has an affinity with the thyroid gland. It's often used in Herbal Medicine for a variety of reasons - helps make the skin and hair healthy. Gail
