If the HIV infection has progressed to the stage of AIDS, then yes, the symptoms of *any* additional infection would be worse. From: Grant on 25 Oct 2005 16:07 Yes. What keeps herpes in check is the immune system. If a person has a disease that affects the immune system, then the herpes virus may go crazy. As a matter-of-fact, people with both HIV and herpes need to be on medication and be rather careful. ar In article <56615f97c3f2b(a)uwe>, Rainrainrain via MedKB.com says... > >if a person has herpes and hiv wouldn't the herpes be worse and more frequent? >
From: Grant on 25 Oct 2005 16:19 Hmmm...now I'm thinking that there might be a very definite difference between HIV and AIDS. AIDS would be a baaaaaaad problem for those with herpes. But perhaps a well managed case of HIV wouldn't be so bad?? ar In article <djm3ad01708(a)drn.newsguy.com>, Grant says... > >Yes. What keeps herpes in check is the immune system. So you do not necessarily have to have aids to notice more outbreaks etc? Meaning hiv does not necessarily have to advance to aids for the hsv virus to become more frequent etc...??
