From: joesterl on 11 Dec 2005 20:40 I cannot stand the taste of diet soda pop. Even the kind with Splenda makes me want to gag. But I am addicted to Dr. Pepper. But I am diabetic. And I have been over-weight for years. That problem has existed for years. Then a few months ago I realized the perfect solution. In a mug I put 1 part of regular Dr Pepper and 2 parts of caffeine free Diet Dr Pepper. The resulting taste is acceptable. It has one-third the sugar. It has one-third the calories. It has one-third the caffeine. If I mix it half regular and half diet I honestly cannot tell that it even has diet in it. At one-third regular and two-thirds diet I can taste the diet a little bit but it is still acceptable. That change is one of the things that helped me lose 35 pounds this year! - moshe
From: Mary on 11 Dec 2005 20:45 Cool! I'm a Dr. Pepper fan, also, but I don't mind the caffeine-free diet kind. I must drink 3 cans a day, shame on me! Congratulations on your weight loss--I respect those who succeed--it's no easy job!!! But, if I eliminate all that Dr Pepper from my diet, *why* would I *want* to live to be 100? :^)

Might be able to eliminate the regular type over time. RB |
