From: Tanja on 12 Jun 2008 10:06 Please help me with some advice. My name is Tanja, South African but I am travelling abroad. I need advice on my diet for hypoglycemia and neurological impairment. For the past three years Ý have had severe mental fatigue and stress. Ýn October Ý started taking Hoodia Gordonii to loose weight. Two months later Ý was eating almost nothing. At times Ý ate only lamb, wýthout any carbs. I got very thin very fast. I developed severe brain fatigue symptoms which got worse in five months. At no time was my glucose tested as everyone assumed Ý had psychological problems. My doctor was completely useless in this regard. Ý went for psychiatric testing but nobldy could find the cause for my brain problems. Ýn March i had a collapse and near-death experience which Ý now realise was a hypoglycemic episode. Soon after that I left my home country for business travels. On my travels and after much prayer, Ý have realised that my body has not been utilising the food Ý'm eating, resulting in neurological impairment for six months. ý feel very weak and my brain feels as if it is sliding. I am feeling great anxiety. I've been eating well and my glucose tested normal yesterday but my brain is not recovered yet. Ý imagine that sometimes my glucose actually spikes. Sometimes Ý feel like Ý will pass out and many nights Ý only survived by prayer and others praying for me. Now Ý realise what's wrong but have no idea what to do to reduce my insulin and reestablish a normal brain function. Do you recommend a ketone diet as emergency measure? And when Ý get home, what kind of specialist do Ý see? Thank you so much, Tanja
