From: radiant_x on 22 Oct 2007 15:11 Hi, if anyone can help me with this, it would be much appreciated. My father, who's had both back and heart surgery in the last decade, is experiencing cramps in the back part of his lower right leg. The doctor thinks it may be related to one of his surgeries, but has no solution to offer. The cramps are accompanied by spasms in the leg and/ or swelling at times. Has anyone had experience with a similar situation, and have you had any success in finding a solution? Further surgery, folk remedies, whatever - we're open to listening to anything that might help. I've read the newsgroups here, and I've seen several other people with a similar problem, but no replies to their posts. Thanks!

Low levels caused cramping in my legs and mostly my calfs. I now take potassium supplements and seldom have the pains/cramps anymore. D
From: Michael B on 22 Oct 2007 17:44 A lot of cardiac patients are on diuretics that cause their potassium to be depleted.
