For veges I had (tempura style) battered broccoli, battered onion rings, deep-fried home-made potato chips - most for her but a few for me. And some steamed silver-beet (swiss chard). One-hour post-meal 5.8. The secret is in the thickness of the batter and the portion sizes... Two nights before you would have seen a man eating shark. The shark wasn't in batter, but coated with paprika and chopped herbs before being pan-fried in olive oil. Sides were steamed broccoli, asparagus and cabbage with mashed pumpkin and a small dollop of mashed potato. Use your imagination, mate. I never ate as well before I was diagnosed. From: Ozgirl on 26 Aug 2008 20:24 If you like sweet potato, this is what my daughter does: She cuts the sweet potato like chips, lays them on a baking tray, sprinkles them with olive oil and salt and bakes them in the oven. Obviously don't overdo the serving size. You can then have your fish plus lots of "free" veggies and salad. Pick from things like: spinach, cabbage, cucumber, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, capsicums, celery, radish, green beans zuchini... etc.
