right you are on the right lines.
put in every thing you can think of, but make sure you put in the way you
feel in the bad times. ie as you have told us how you feel & think.

never mention the good times just mention about the bad times..

get your shrink od CPN to fill in some of the forms, (getting them to fill
in some bits vurtually guaranties getting benafits)

at the part of the form where it asks for your - doctors, name and address,-
put in the name and address of your shrink, (this is because your shrink
knows more about u and your condition than your normall doctor.)

the way you have writen your post is just the way you kneed to fill in the
forms,
just remember to mention only the way you feel when you are feeling bad.

make an appointment with your shrink, take the forms to him/her and ask them
to help you fill them in, - they are used to the forms and will help.

if you have a CPN get intouch with him fist as he/she can also help you with
the forms.

the forms seem very confusing, - i now get them every four years -
i keep a copy of my old forms that i have filled in as they come in handy as
, a referance, when i get the new forms to fill in. thus making it easier to
fill in the new forms, also i still get my CPN to fill in some of the forms.

all the best m8. and remember. if what you have writen sounds nuts then you
are on the wright path,

The nice people at the Citizen's Advice Bureau are very helpful when it
comes to this sort of thing.

According to my advocate (who also works for Rethink <www.rethink.org>
used to be known as the National Schizophrena Alliance, IIRC) with whom
I was having this conversation the other day (she works for their
benefit dept) "severe discomfort" means *PHYSICAL* discomfort, to the
best of her recollection, no-one with mental illness has ever been
awarded higher mobility and to receive the highest care rate you have
to be practically bedridden, that's how stringent the criteria are
these days. I was originally awarded only lower care and no mobility
and had to challenge it via tribunal (I'm now in receipt of middle care
and lower mobility). I've always found this to be a little cockeyed
because lower mobility is only something like £16pw and that won't
nearly cover bus fares. Whereas higher is something like three times
that, yet if you're on higher you qualify for a FREE bus pass for FREE
travel (at least you do here in Teesdale, though I'm sure other
authorities must run similar schemes). The fact you can step outside
your front door (whether you need your mother's help, or not) virtually
all but disqualifies you from claiming higher mobility.

Are you claiming Carer's/Attendance Allowance? If not, you need to ask
your mother to fill in the forms. I also strongly recommend you ask
Rethink about Direct Payments; these allow you to employ a cleaner,
gardener or other 'handy' person and the BA will pay them.

The direct link to Rethink's benefit advice pages is
<http://www.rethink.org/living_with_mental_illness/money_debt_mental_health_problems/benefits/index.html>.

And I strongly advise you get yourself an advocate - Rethink offer such
a service; details can be found here
<http://www.rethink.org/how_we_can_help/our_services/advocacy.html>.

Hope that helps
