From: Spacey Spade on 19 May 2008 18:05 I am looking at the ingredients for Equate Fiber Therapy Caplets (compares to Citrucel) methylcellulose 500mg other ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, fd&c yellow no. 6 aluminum lake, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). You can buy powdered methylcellulose that has no other ingredients! Just not as convenient to take as a pill. Are any of these other ingredients not good for me? Why are they used? I have not had an ulcer in my mouth for the last year since I stopped using toothpastes with SLS. I fear that while these pills make you feel better in the short term because they add fiber, they make you addicted to them by irritating your bowel with these other ingredients. |
