From: Cynthia Ward on 23 Aug 2005 21:18 Hi everyone just wondered what any of you do for really swollen feet. I have had this going on for while usually they go down after a day or so but not this time. I am being good about my diet no salt, so on I am following my Endo's diet but they just are huge and I am not sure should I call someone and who. sorry I am just a little frustrated. Thanks Cindy W.
From: janersagain on 23 Aug 2005 23:20 Hi Cindy, First off you are on NO salt already? What do you call the "endo" diet and what is it. I think it is your GI track? Explain please? The second, ok third thing LOL, do you have any kidney problems with your health? EVER have? Are you having burning, any blood? Usually when legs or ankles swell and it is bothersome, then if it is NOT the salt, it might be kidney's or you bp..... I suggest you elevate your legs as much as possible, if that doesn't work for you, push more fluids too. i know that sound dumb cause you are swollen already but it helps get rid of waste that cause swelling.... And if your feet DO NOT GO DOWN in am when first getting UP? call your doctor. If you have a kidney, call doc, if a rheumy instead or that, call him. IF you have a cardiologist get a bp check and call HIM. It is a hit and miss thing here. But IF the swelling DOES NOT GO DOWN in am? Get to any one of your docs is the thing here. But if they go down when first UP in morning, then watch when they swell. You might then want to mention it to the doc when you see him or her next time. The point is, after much of MY rambling :) is swelling happens during the day from meds, food, canned goods and what not, so they should go down in am after being off your feet. IF NOT then you got a problems going on. Let me know will you I sure hope to heck I did NOT confuse you did I? hugs janers
From: Cynthia Ward on 24 Aug 2005 06:58 Thanks Janers and these are the things that have bothered me they are only slightly down and still hard to put on shoes before meds and breakfast. BP is good never any kidney involvement GI has been rough but always is new endo has me drinking more ensures pushing more fruit like bananas apples etc I have always been careful on salt hubby hates it but I even have cut out the canned "no salt items" I always have a bottle of water in my hand so I am pushing fluid I have always dealt with this but the last month has been they are swelling as soon as I am upright. I keep them up and I walk a little I have spots on my shins where yellowish fluid is seeping out. Anyway thank Janers janersagain wrote: >Hi Cindy, >First off you are on NO salt already? From: janersagain on 24 Aug 2005 15:48 Cincy You sound like you might be developing a cellulitis. If your legs are seeping, then CALL the doc. This is not a good thing and infections can indeed mess up. Did you check the sodium content of ensure????? Apples have a lot of sodium in them too, from what others say. If you wait on them there LOL legs you will have a mess lady...please??? hugs janers
