From: Salome on 3 Oct 2005 14:15 Has anybody here tried a featherbed? I'd be very interested in your experiences with it. My bed is way too firm and it makes my pain worse. I've been looking at featherbeds that are about 6 inches thick and contain a mixture of down and feathers. I've already tried Tempur-Pedic and had a terrible time with it, so I don't want a memory foam topper. (I'm sensitive to chemicals in the foam anyway.) Thanks for any info you can give.... From: Cripple on 3 Oct 2005 14:42 I use a Cuddle-Ewe wool underquilt, look at their website, they have a lot of info on FMS Ed "Salome" <garbled(a)moria.zut> wrote in message news:Jye0f.226407$v86.185560(a)fe03.news.easynews.com... > Has anybody here tried a featherbed? From: saavik on 3 Oct 2005 15:52 Try a foam core top mattress as opposed to coilsprings. They come in differing firmness as well, but mold to the body and support better. Most mattress manufacturers have them. Margo Salome wrote: > Has anybody here tried a featherbed? From: Mercy on 3 Oct 2005 22:09 My husband and I both have bed toppers that are like featherbed toppers but made of a synthetic something or other instead. I think they hold up better than the feathers. It really really is comfortable for me. I also have an extra top built into my mattress. I cannot sleep on a firm surface.... can't even fall asleep and if I do, I am hurting badly when I wake up. I got this mattress topper at Bed Bath and Beyond where they have both feather toppers and the kind I use. As well, whenever my husband and I travel, we take along our toppers. We both have a single one in the event we sleep in two queen beds. I also put a double on my guest bed. They are wonderful IMO. I use a featherbed. On top of the featherbed, I have a 2 inch visco elastic mattress topper. There are many types of featherbeds available. You most definitely want one that's baffled so the feathers don't move all around. I find the mattress topper to be the best. Costco currently has a 2.5" topper which look to be of good quality. I've had my topper for over 5 years and no break down. I don't have the brand name temperpedic either. I also had to air my topper out as the chemicals were nasty..
