From: F. Mason (golf) on 28 Aug 2008 10:09 Hi, Maybe someone can help me with this. I started having low body temp (averaging 97,3) and a bunch ot other hypothyroid symptoms about 10 years ago. The worst part is the so called 'brain fog' ... I have had 6 episodes of brain fog lasting from 3 to 5 months each, over the 10 years. My TSH has measured around 4.8 to 6.0 each time, and doc finally put me on 50 mcg levothyroxine 15 months ago, only because of the fatigue. He ignores the other symptoms, ... tells me to see a psychiatrist! Where have we heard this before!?!?!? My body temp continues to be very low , averaging 97.6 for awhile, then back to averaging 97.2, etc. I have purchased 3 thermometers over this period, and also compared readings to nurse at dr. app'ts. My cortisol and testosterone check out ok. My Question is: Has anyone else experienced this, even on meds? Does anyone know what I could try!? Thanks, Fran

TSH of 4.8 to 6.0 is out of range. And personally I have been on 100 mcg of Synthroid and 5 of cytomel for over a year and my body temp, which has always been on the low side, is still on the low side. (96.5 to 97.5) I wouldn't worry about it. Some people just naturally have low body temp. How's the fatigue and brain fog though? Diane

The thing is, patients on the internet and in support groups report that they usually need both the ft4 and ft3 in the upper half of the range, and everyone has his/hers own individual sweet spot in % up in the range. One jsut has to be allowed to experiment as to where in the range the ft4 and ft3 needs to be. Often the TSH then is low, while the ft4 and ft3 are still inside the range, so one is not over-medicated. You maight need a different thyroid med, like desiccated Thyroid, like for example nature-throid or Armour Thyroid. nora -- Posted from the AST website http://www.altsupportthyroid.org/index.php ** Posted from http://www.teranews.com **

The worst part is the Hi Fran ... maybe you are on the last throes of Adrenal Burnout Syndrome ... where so much adrenaline has been pumping for so long, you are buring out. Plan Two ... pancreatic cancer needs to be excluded and your TSH has to be checked ... low TSH .. pitutary is not kicking it hard enough, or it is not getting the message into the thyroid ... either way not good. Plan Three ... get a liver dump ... have your gall bladder squeezed out by using Apple Cider Vingar with Veil of Mother in it on the three day salad binge with ACV by oz for three days. There is a recipe ... The idea of the that kind if fast is two fold. By stop digesting proteins for three days, your system can digest disease and cancers and stuff like that. Also by dumping the liver, and squeezing out the bile duct ... it will run more smoothly. Insulin Resistance, where you insulin is not being metabolized and is sticking around ... is because your liver is not eating it up over night ... and get your liver working better helps everything work better. These things I am suggesting to you are easy to do, but hurt like hell to get through. So if you are off with you Dad you will want to sabotage the long hunt of depravation for LIFE to bring back to the Wife for her to take that life and make creativity, healing, birth, good things with. To make good strong magic, good strong medicine, you have to be free of your parents prison of fear, know how to pour love into their wounds as if they were a child but still treat them as an adult. There is a wit to this, and love is the key ... IMO and all that rot. sumbuddie on da watchtower wear blind sea :)

The 15 month period was interrupted where I did not take the levothyroxine from Oct 2007 thru Feb. 2008, and then resumed it for the last 7 months. The perioid in Spring 2007, I was tested for TSH only and was at 1.7. He put off labs on this period, until I mentioned it on June 25th, and he said to do it before my next visit, which should be in Sept or October. Fatigue did not improve. Have not had an episode of 'brain fog' since April - July 2007. In the past there has been about 15 to 18 months between each episode. I was on Armour Rx'd by an endocronologist in 2005, and for two weeks, everything went away. Endo said it was the placebo effect, and that's why it didn't last. Then he left the city for a new position, and wrote a letter to my primary telling him that I did not have a thyroid problem. The endo is even more blockheaded than my primary. I would like to find a new primary who is openminded, but I think it is just a shot in the dark unless I have some first hand recommendations! thanks Fran <johnson917(a)cheshire.net> wrote in message news:e3ac4534-5e45-47e1-bece-e6cecb954d7f(a)e53g2000hsa.googlegroups.com...
