Hi Group,

was at the eye doctor yesterday, extra images ... is there something, nah
.... extra visual inspection because of the limitations of digital imagery
.... is there something, nah .... by common language training it translates
to "not really really good, but not enough to do something about", I saw the
images, there is an ever so slightly denser region smack dab in the middle
of left eye, almost imperceptably so.

Well, the previous HbAlc was at 7.5, at which level I asked for Byetta and
got glucophage upped to 2 grams from 1.5 gram and increased physical
activity. I have slowly been loosing weight this entire year as a
consequence thereof.

The most recent was 7.1 some 6 weeks ago. Interestingly my nails no longer
split longitudinally, only a few millimeters outermost are now split up. A
real nuisance!

What that seems to me to indicate is that 7.0 is the upper limit for that
this here body accepts as long time average. Which contrasts grossly with my
gp accepting a HbAlc at 8.1 without reacting since it was obviously because
I was a type2. It was first on my directe question about why he treated bp
increase and not the cause therefo when he wanted to up my bp medication two
years ago that he gave in and prescribed metformin. He hadn't wanted to
prescribe it because his largest fear seems to be hypos and we was very
worried that it would cause such.

Opinions: What to do now? - parlando Byetta again or hope to maintain course
and that weight loss alone will do?

Kind regards

Peter Larsen

Apart from Byetta, what have you been doing regarding d&e?

When do you test?

Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

Might be 7% for your nails; but it's 4.5% for your heart. 7% is still
not acceptable, by quite a long way, IMO.

Well, what's the slope looking like, for your pp readings, and weight
loss? Have you been able to up your exercise levels to the equivalent
of 10-12000 steps a day yet? If all those are optimal, then maybe you
should add byetta.

What are the access rules for you? (Do I remember you're in Denmark?)
It's damn rare round my way; I happened to ask the head endo at last
week's DUK meeting, there are 4 patients in the PCT on it.

Mother just informed me it's Diabetes Week and apparently there's a
place open in Lowestoft to "drop in". Do you think we should go, and
ask awkward questions???"

Tee hee :P I always do, if I see people testing at a fair, or
whatever. I'm not infrequently on the other side of the table, and I
can often see people like you and me coming :D There's an Indian Mela
in Ipswich on July 13th where we've a stand next.
