I am obligated to eating out with my wife's family tonight at Red Lobster.
IS there anything on the menu that be safe for diabetics? I know it differs
for each person, but any advice will be appreciated.

I am not a seafood lover so this is a place I've ever dined. But I have
looked them up online and am reading the menu now.

On the dinner menu, the jumbo shirmp cocktail, grilled shrimp, any of the
fish that are not battered, breaded or stuffed, live Main lobster, lobster
chops, king crab legs, or snow crab legs seem like safe bets. Just be
careful with the sides. There, I see listed biscuits, coleslaw, mashed
potatoes, rice, baked potato and fries. All could be a problem for you
because all are high in carbs. Now technically there can be a low carb
coleslaw, but most restaurant slaws are smothered in sugary dressing. Watch
out for croutons on your salad, and also take a good look at the seasonal
vegetables. There could be higher carb veggies in there.

You could also opt for soup and salad. Keep in mind that restaurants often
use a prepared type soup mix that might contain carbs in the form of
sweetener or thickeners. But if you have just a cup of soup, some salad and
maybe a biscuit (or part of a biscuit since I don't know their size), this
meal might be doable. The apple/walnut/chicken salad might be a bit higher
in carbs than the others, depending on how much apple they put in.

The Aztec chicken has BBQ sauce. That could be high in carbs. If you are
interested in that, ask your server. Might be doable if the sauce is on the
side. The steak seems fine so long as you don't get it with the breaded
shrimp.

I put in an acronym you might not know(your screen name appears here
only once), and as I hit send I realized I misspelled it anyway. it was
DAMHITK. it should have been DAMHIKT which means "don't ask me how I
know that".
