From: Fran on 13 Apr 2006 12:36 HI everyone, I have been gone for a bit and it is nice to be back with you. I have a question about my cpap. I woke up at 3am blowing pufs of air out my mouth. I use a cpap because my throat closes up when I exhale. The cpap of course keeps it open. I believe it is now closing up againsrt the air pressure. Should I try to increase the pressure one level or does anyone out there have an opinion on this? Also, I have just gone on Medicare and wonder if I really need gap insurance. Anyone out there with experience of not having gap coverage? Fran
From: bostondan on 22 Apr 2006 08:49 I have the same problem with the puffs of air at night, I was thinking that maybe my pressure is too high (I'm at 9). I will call my doctor on Monday.

That is, you won't need any kind of Rx benefit in your Medigap insurance. Medigap insurance is like any other insurance. If you don't need it and have it, it's wasted money. If you need it and don't have it, you're in deep yogurt. With Medigap, all of your Medicare approved medical bills will be paid 100%, inclluding laboratory sleep tests, cancer treatment, etc. etc. etc. As you may, or may not, know, there are also Medicare HMOs where approved medical and Rx are provided at no additional cost to you. From: paula on 22 Apr 2006 14:40 For a while after starting cpap, I had a period where I was blowing air out of my mouth; I had the sense I had to much air coming in or going out ( my cheeks were full of air) and that the exhale port could not handle this much. Had my husband look at the exhale port to make sure it was open all the way ( it was) but this, more often then not, happened as I went to sleep although at times I did wake up from the excess? air. For me it seems to have resolved on it's own, as reading your post I realize I haven't had this problem in months. My pressure is 10, so not high; if anything on the low side. Can't help with gap insurance; what country is that? I am in Canada Fran wrote: > HI everyone, I have been gone for a bit and it is nice to be back with > you. I have a question about my cpap.
