If it fits properly, the Activa is hard to beat. The smaller/lighter Ultra Mirage and Comfort Select (all these by Respironics and ResMed) are more pleasant, but tend to leak more. In a full face mask, I prefer the ResMed Ultra Mirage to the good Respironics equivalent, but FF masks are harder to fit and are more specific to the person's face shape. I'm not familiar with nose pillows (I didn't like the one I tried) and other possibilities that some people prefer. -- -- David Ruether ruether(a)verizon.net rpn1(a)cornell.edu http://www.ferrario.com/ruether
From: ronlin on 13 Dec 2005 20:05 I had a Comfort Select initially. It felt great, but had a tendency to leak significantly during the night. I am an active sleeper. Luckly, my insurance lets me get a new mask every six months. From comments I read on this newsgroup, I tried the Activa next. Its not as comfortable than the Comfort Select, but seals alot better. I prefer having the better seal. I tried a nasal pillow for 15 minutes during the sleep study and did not like them (just didn't feel right). As an 8 year user of CPAP's I went through many versions of masks. All shared a common fault, they leaked. Some noisily while others burped. The Adams circuit of nasal pillows convinced me to switch away from masks. Been using the Breeze ever since that came out with great results. At present have no interest in looking for anything else.
