I am a diabetic injecting humalin I three times a day and lantus at night. I
always carry my insulin
with me during the day and have been using a case which caters for three pen
nibs and one vial.
unfortunately I dropped and broke the case and now have trouble finding a
similar one. Mumfords
tell me they have stopped making the hard case and now only issue the
pouches, which of course are
no good for carrying an extra vial, should you be out for the day.
I thought I had found one but it turns out it is only compatible with a
different insulin to the ones I
am taking. Can anyone advise

you don't indicate what insulin you are taking

for Humalog i get the HumaPen with the carry case
for 3 pen tips and 1 cartridge as well as the Pen
itself

for the Novo insulins i have the Novo3 pen with
the carry case for 3 pen tips and 1 cartridge and
the pen itself

i don't know about OwenMumford or who they support

good luck.......... hope you can get what you want
from the insulin supplier

Carry less. One (maybe two) pens, already filled. A couple of spare needles
and a meter with strips. All those will fit in a small sized bum bag.

I don't see the point in carrying EVERYTHING around all day when you don't
need it, but IF you have to carry your background insulin and a syringe,
even those will fit in the same bum bag. You'll not get a grand piano in
there though, so think on.

Owen make pens Kate. I used to use one of their "Autopens" with a spring
loaded delivery method. Great pen, but I didn't know they made a 3mm cart
version, so I've been using one of their "normal" pens since.

Like I said in my first post here, I don't see the point of carrying
everything around all day when most of it won't get used. Unless of course
<FX..switch on cycnial mode> it's another display of the Diabetic Badge of
Honour" thing going on.

Look at ALL this stuff I need just to stay alive each day. Aren't I brave,
etc, etc, bleeuugh. :-)

I DO hope I'm wrong though

I'd best just nip into the kitchen and do a blood test. It's been an hour
since my last one:-)))

i carry my insulin pen around in my purse and THAT
IS ALL when i'm away from home

i can guestimate what my bg is going to be based
on the last month's pre dinner bg reading ( i
seldom do brunch, but i test first thing in the
morning before brunch)

there is no reason to carry around a lot of
diabetes equipment....... and i you need to you
can probably leave it at someone's house before
you go out (assuming you are sleeping away from
home that night)

i DO prefer the hard shell cases

i'm waiting for the Owen Mumford pen to arrive
here........... you are saying do NO get the
spring loaded?......... i'll remember that! ty
