From: Musashi on 8 Oct 2005 07:17 Awful, why do us women have to go through this??? There coulda been an easier way of menstruation for God to create lol! Not fair at all. It always triggers a flare for me, so because of that reason the doc put me on the contraceptive pill to take constantly. If I feel well at any time, then take the 7 day pill-free break and have my period. It's made life a lot easier, believe me. And my periods on the pill are nice and light and less painful. My periods not on the pill are diabolical! And yes, I do get very fatigued, but the worst thing is finding a comfortable position to lay down in when you're heavy flowing. Doesn't make life easy. From: Jeff and Mary on 10 Oct 2005 08:19 Didn't I hear of a new contraceptive pill that cuts periods back to 4 per year? From: Sdores on 10 Oct 2005 08:32 I started with a hormone pill called Camilla tabs and it helped stop the periods. I did have "annoying" bleeding occasionally, like 4-5 times a month but not heavy and not as painful. The doc changed me to FemHRT and the periods started monthly and were painful plus I gained a lot of weight which is something I have never had a problem with. I just got back on the Camilla tabs, well I will be in another day of the ones I have, I don't have the heart to throw out the pills when they cost so much. It will take the Camilla pills a couple months to stop the periods probably. I am in menopause thus the change of the med but with the weight gain the hot flashes are worse than they were.
