I'll just define bloat for this purpose as the stomach proper filling up
with gas. It might feel like you need to burp, and maybe you can or can't.
You may also feel like you have a ball stuck in your throat. I'm not sure if
what I'm going to suggest to help the problem will help a can't burp
feeling.
But I've found this to help if the stomach proper is full of gas and it
doesn't seem to want to pass.

I've already mentioned it in another thread, but I've tested it some more
and I wanted to update you and also get the word bloat into this so the
search engines can pick it up for people having this problem.

Dates, yes, dates.
I should buy stock, because with all the people having problems with this,
they are going to go up. :O)

What I found was that when my stomach proper was full of gas and it wouldn't
pass, if I chewed up a date and swallowed it slowly, within a very short
time, the exit stomach valve seemed to open and let he gas pass into the
small intestines, relieving the pressure. It was almost like magic. I didn't
believe it. I ate some other food and most things caused my stomach to gas
back up right away. Eat a date or two and the gas dumped. So, that was
several days ago. Since then, several times, I've had to burp which I could
do, but instead I ate a date or two. The gas passed through and I didn't
have to burp.

Ok, so dates shouldn't hurt most people. They are sweet, maybe that's part
of the key. One of the reasons I eat them as a snack is they are very sweet,
but that means they are rich and I won't have to eat many.

Anyway, if you are having problems with bloat, think you are swallowing too
much air, gassed up, feel like you need to burp, or just think you need to
eat some dates after reading this, get some and try it. The ones I've been
eating are the Hadley ones from Costco, which I'm stating only so there is a
standard, the one that works for me. That's all I know.
