Hi Guys, just wandering what is the best anti anxiety medication in
your opinion. I have severe generalized anxitey disorder. My main
fear is what the future has instore. My mind is constantlyracing and
every thought becomes a negative thought which then generates my
anxiety. I have tried CBT but it doesnt seem to work. What medicines
can help ease my tension and help stop my negative thoughts?

Escitalopram or Venlafaxine are good.

Yes, I am finding that works well too.
Ativan (lorazepam) works for me too, but I think Venlafaxine may be a
better option for me, since it doesn't make me so absent-minded as
lorazepam does. Lorazepam does give me a good night's sleep though...

Effexor helped me a lot for anxiety and general worrying.

(Much better than my current AD's, unfortunately it stopped working for me.
Had to stop taking it when it no longer helped the depression - and all I
had left were the side effects. Effexor did effect my short term memory and
ability to do simple arithmetic -- lost a job as a cashier because my
register was always too far off.)

But I don't have PTSD or panic disorder - does it help with panic disorder
too?

Have you tried taurine? Niacinamide? Magnesium? Fish oil? Why do you seek medicine,
instead of nutrition?
