From: rayzer on 3 May 2006 08:38 Hi Guys, just wandering what is the best anti anxiety medication in your opinion. I have severe generalized anxitey disorder. My main fear is what the future has instore. My mind is constantlyracing and every thought becomes a negative thought which then generates my anxiety. I have tried CBT but it doesnt seem to work. Lorazepam does give me a good night's sleep though... Jake

Had to stop taking it when it no longer helped the depression - and all I had left were the side effects. Effexor did effect my short term memory and ability to do simple arithmetic -- lost a job as a cashier because my register was always too far off.) But I don't have PTSD or panic disorder - does it help with panic disorder too? -- maryjane
