I read somewhere of a battery powered machine - made by AEIO?

Has anyone had any experience? I guess the major makers are working on
something similar.

We saw this machine at our last focus group meeting. It is smaller than
ResMed's S8 and Respironic's soon to be released machine (someone posted
the URL several weeks ago).

It seemed well made. The battery is a laptop battery. Its usage
(humidification and pressure) determines how much use you get off a
charge. It is designed to last a night (the thinking you charge it up
the next day).

I would like one for travel and for boating.

Thanks, Harlan. I've just bought the S8, mainly because of its small
size for travelling. In fact, I have just used it on a long flight,
plugged into seat power, with BA.
But one that I could use for camping would be great.
I guess that all this is fairly new technology so we will see rapid
improvements.

this is a FREQUENTLY asked question in this newgroup.
Use google groups to search it.

Nope, old technology.

And my contribution to do it yourself solution for serious outdoor types
is here;
http://www.woa.com.au/terryc/remote-power/remote-power.html

It is all about buying an *pap that will run off 12v and knowing/working
out your overnight power requirements. note avoid integral humidifiers.

e.g. just finished 15 nights camping with a Resmed Autospirit APAP (upto
15) and a 72 Amp hour deep discharge lead acid battery ($AUS125
fromsuper Cheap Auto before Christmas) gave me two nights before
needing a recharge (I didn't try for a third). Damm shame my twin 132
Amp Hour Trojans decided it was their turn to die.
