From: Barbara on 3 Apr 2006 19:22 we are italian,my boyfriend used for one month tetrabenazina with 3 orap 2 zoloft and other meds everyday. This was the therapy that a very important italian neurologist gave him Orap gave him terrible side effects as achatisia. Tetrabenazina didn't gave him any kind of result. We changed neurologist. Now he is on rivotril (very low dosage)and next week he will start with serenase (haloperidolo) This is surely a better therapy Barbara "Pud" <johnny_q(a)hotmail.com> ha scritto nel messaggio news:1oydnbj7I8cNfrPZnZ2dnUVZ_tqdnZ2d(a)comcast.com... > And if so, have you had good results? From: Barbara on 4 Apr 2006 06:04 Hi Jo, i didn't write anymore, till now, because i was waiting for the new therapy but first of all i was waiting to meet the new neurologist and see what kind of approach he has for the tourette syndrome. We liked him because, after listening to Carlo's story, and after giving a look to the previous therapy given by the italian authority in tourette syndrome, (The america site has his referral for Italy), he said that before it could be better to work on Carlo's anxiety (rivotril), starting with the lowest possible dosage adding till 2 drops in the morning 2 drops in the afternoon and 8 before going to bed. After a week with this dosage (to see if there are side effects), Carlo will add serenase (haloperidolo) always starting from the minimum dosage to control possible achatisia. This neurologist explained us what these meds are, what kind of positive or negative effects could they have and, very important thing, he gave us his private number to be called for every information or strange effect Carlo could feel during the therapy. We feel supported and not alone anymore. Now we only hope the new therapy will help Carlo.
