From: annie on 22 Oct 2005 16:03 I recently broke my two front teeth very badly and was advised that I needed a crown and post for one and a crown for the other. I did some research and decided to see a Dentist with a cerec machine, as I did not want to wait for 3 weeks to get my crowns made in a lab. Unfortunately the Dentist had some difficulty and I ended up with one larger than the other, a poor colour match and looking slightly goofy and feeling very bulky at the back of my teeth (giving me a slight lisp at times!) I have since got another opinion from a Dentist who also uses Cerec and traditional lab method and who assures me he can get much better results, but I'm now wary of the cerec method as the whole experience was very upsetting, especially as I was very happy with my original teeth! Can anyone advise on the merits of lava/techceram crowns versus cerec 3d? I'd be grateful of any help with this.
From: USC95 on 22 Oct 2005 21:01 I personally prefer traditional PFM over Cerec crowns for anterior teeth. Esthetics is much better with PFM. plus since you had rootcanal done on your front teeth, you shouldn't get all ceramic crowns..since tooth will turn darker over time and it will show thru ceramic. I would recommend captek crown (porcelain over gold )

Endo-teeth darken when pulpal material, gutta percha and sealant are left in the clinical crown. Clean the pup chamber fully, and the color change stops. -- / Amatus / "USC95" <aestheticdentistry(a)gmail.com> wrote in message news:1130029275.827207.231820(a)f14g2000cwb.googlegroups.com... >I personally prefer traditional PFM over Cerec crowns for anterior > teeth.
