Has anyone heard of a drug for osteo that you give in shot form. I am not
talking about reclast as that is IV.

A friend of mine told me that someone he knew is taking weekly or daily
shots for osteo. since they can not do the pills or the cost of the IV.

I have searched all over and find nothing.
I have lots of problems with my health and now with a stent and having to
take plavix, asprin an medrol there is a greater risk of bleeding. My
esophagus is effected with irritation and causes severe heart burn. I am on
meds 2 a day for that.
Any suggestions on what others have taken? NOTHING by mouth.

Reclast is not covered by drug plan, and I am fighting already for use of
the stomach meds 2 a day so. I was on boniva and now it is causing more
heart burn so I am not taking it again.
thanks for the infor.
appreciate your help

My brother-in-law is apparently doing quite well with daily
injections of forteo. He claims that his testing has gone from 'severe
osteoporosis' to 'slight osteopaena in some regions'.

It's not an injection but I'm using Fortical Nasal Spray. You alternate
nostrils each day. No upset stomach, no needing to stay upright for an hour
or more, no need to skip or delay a meal because you goofed up on the time
you took it. I'm not having any side effects to speak of.

I was using Miacalcin, a nose spray, but my last bone scan showed additional
loss and approaching closer to osteoporosis. My rheumy wants to change to
something else. I'm thinking of trying the Reclast. Will keep you all
informed.
