From: nitemover on 31 Oct 2007 04:57 I was prescribed Xanax for agoraphobia in 1982, when it was a new drug on the scene and took it for many years. It definitely worked. Later on, I was prescribed Klonopin and then Ativan. There's no doubt these medications work and enable a person frozen with fear to live a somewhat normal life. There is one catch though........this family of drugs is terribly physically addictive. If you can't afford to continue taking it, then don't start. Abrupt withdrawal from this "benzo" class of drugs is horrendous.

Abrupt withdrawal from this "benzo" class of drugs is > horrendous. > they are all available as generics and are dirt cheap, they are very affordable. abrupt withdrawal is just plain stupid and any doctor would give you samples enough to get through the physical withdrawal symptoms. since the body develops a tolerance to the meds you should suffer with anxiety and panic instead? bull.
