From: V~anessa on 28 Sep 2008 04:26 Hey all, I'm off on a plane trip tomorrow for work. I'll be away for a couple of days and will miss my family heaps but it will also be good to have some 'me' time. It's only an hour trip interstate and I'm much stronger than I've ever been in the past. It's been a year since my last trip and that one was terrifying but I made it. I have all my distractions planned... puzzles, music, reading material, comfort food. I hope you get a chance to go out to some nice restaurants (on your company's dime, of course) and see some sights. For me, when I fly it's more anticipatory anxiety; the lines, the waiting, let's just *go* already and get it over with. Once I'm on the plane, I'm fine. I always request an aisle seat so that I don't have to feel badly about disturbing someone next to me if I have to use the restroom. And, I, like you, usually bring a book or a puzzle magazine. Once the plane is "docked", that's the last bit of anxiety (more waiting and suffocating). You can do it! You'll be fine. Make sure you check (if you haven't done so) about the rules and regulations as to what you can bring on the plane these days since they seem to vary with the tides. :-( kili -- ========== Please DELETE this text block when replying! ========== Contact the moderators at: asapm-board(a)stump.algebra.com The charter is available at: http://readystump.algebra.com/~asapm ========= This notice is added to each approved article ==========

We are going out to dinner but we have to pay our own way. Not only that but I will be out of pocket for accommodation as the allowance is very minimal. Canberra is our capital city but once you've been there a couple of times there isn't much to see or do. Thanks for the tip on checking rules for what you can bring on board as they do change a bit. The anticipation is the worst for me, plus when we're up above the clouds as the blue sky opens all my anxiety wounds but I've done it before and I'll get through it. Funny enough I like sitting in the middle seat as I feel it gives me a boundary. If I was in the aisle I'd feel like the fight/flight might kick in and I'd actually run for help and that's the last thing I want to do. Window seat isn't good as it shows up the blue sky and brings on my derealisation sensation. Anyway, I better get some rest as I've got to get up early for my flight.
