From: Dee on 8 Jul 2008 08:57 In 5 weeks I'll get my first blood test after starting thyroid hormone (just got diagnosed with Hashimoto's). Part of my relationship with my doctor is that I tell him all of my theories, and ask for certain tests; and usually he orders them up for me (of course, he also knows 'stuff', too - but I seem to be the one putting the research into the auto-immune issues). Anyway (my point! : ) ): I'd like to know exactly what to check for in my re-check blood test? My doctor wrote down TSH, T4, and Free T3. Do I need to check anything else? Would I continually check my antibodies? My prolactin was high last time, too; would I continually check that? I'm also have the CBC screening done. I'd just like to hear from other people going through the same thing about the usual protocol re: blood tests to determine hormone dosages. Thank you.
