Well this year I have no plans. Haven't been invited anywhere, got
nowhere to go. Generally I'm content alone but it hurts to be alone
not by choice on a day when everyone is together and having a great
time. I've had great fun in years past but doesn't look good for this
year.

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do alone that won't feel so
lonely? It will suck to sit home.

tariq rahim had no friends and nowhere to go. he napped a lot. overate
a bit out of the boredom of sheer loneliness. headed out of his
apartment and swam in the apartment building's pool simply to escape
his lonely four walls.

headed to a coffee shop where he sat there and read in the last hour
before it closed early for july 4th.

all around he could see happy, sociable people secure in their friends
and families going to the center of town to take in the fireworks.
nobody knew or cared what tariq was up to.
