From: Pete on 22 Aug 2007 13:50 To all...I was sincere enough (and "man enough" for lack of a better term) to genuinely apologize to Howard for our past differences (and ask for his forgiveness), and apparently he is not willing to accept my apology, and communicate with me once again so that I may gain some insight to some important questions I have. I was hoping he would have accepted my apology, especially since he volunteers so much of his valuable time to this group, and has a keen interest in, and is extremely knowledgeable in GERD, and GERD related matters. Apparently he is not a very forgiving person. What a shame. I truly tried and did my best. Maybe he will get sick some day, and need help, and know what it is like to be on the patient side of the bed. I am very disappointed and dejected about this, and would still like to be friends with him again, and to communicate with him again, if at all possible. Take care...Pete

Perhaps I've been out of town and not checked here in the last couple of days. At any rate, I found your post above insulting and offensive. It certainly provides little incentive for any kind of dialogue, doesn't it? HMc

You usually answer people right away and I thought you may have chosen not to respond - I certainly did not mean it to be insulting or offensive. I am truly sorry if you felt insulted or offended. Did you read my previous post titled "pinging Howard - my humble apologies". I tried to be as sincere, genuine and heartfelt and apologetic as I could. I would like to communicate with you once again - please. Apparently you have unblocked me, which is a good sign - thank you. I am currently having a lot of problems and would like to get some feedback from you. Please let me know if we can start over again (I would like that very much), and if I can write you some relevant questions I have about 24 hour ph versus impedance testing. I would also like to attach a scan of my ph waveforms and frequency histograms (from my last ph test three years ago - I wrote you about it back in 2005), since a picture is worth a thousand words, and it will help explain my questions. I know you are not supposed to send attachments in newsgroups, but it is only a couple of pages and they do not take up a lot of bytes, and sometimes it is necessary, and I would always ask first, since most people would not open a post with an attachment indicated. I believe my questions would be valuable to the rest of the group also, and hopefully others may learn from them. Please let me know if I can send you my questions with the attachment. If you don't want the attachment I can put it in words but it will be harder to explain. I will do whatever you want. I look forward to hearing from you, and once again I am sorry. I am not a bad person :-) . Thank you...Pete

I post on this newsgroup because I feel there is a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding about GERD among the public as well as the doctors they see for the problem. Some people, however, will persist in their misunderstanding or will want to argue where their (usually uninformed) opinions differ from mine. That's OK...people should be very careful about internet medical advice, including mine. I express my opinions - people can either believe them or not. I have no interest in debates or arguments - I won't waste the emotional energy required for arguments with anonymous internet personalities that aren't my patients. Likewise, when people call me the kind of names you did, I file them under "people I can't help". I dont' need or want to interact with that kind of patient - either in my practice or on the internet. Life is too short, I am too busy, and I have too many other places where my efforts can be more usefully employed. Having said all of that, I have no objections to people posting attachments on this group. And if I run across your study here, I'll look at it. HMc
