There comes the time you feel so impotent and useless.. I still feel
that the route to go is to promote the brilliant high school students
to enter science. You are competing with the girls, cars and the
desire to get out of the nest.

We are fools to not provide the easiest route possible for those
that show promise. The results provided by the Communist is East
Europe showed up well when we stole their talent in the 50's and
60's.

Research has a yield of under 2% Money grubbers can reduce that to
zero.

I get so tired of promises. The 5 year game in diabetes was enough
for me.

We need a lot of promising talent accumulating knowledge and not
running PR shows. New data is for internal use, not to sell media
advertising.

*********************************
Today we had many calls. Three deaths caused by cancer. A diabetic
in severe pain. That is all Mona informed me about. The phone is damn
busy..

Some pout and gossip here. It is a waste.

So I get blasted for being negative. For not lying to you. So I have
poor thoughts about those that come to a diabetic group to act like
children.

I came here because I suffered, not for entertainment or to promote
my favorite doc. NOTHING ELSE but a living hell. MHD sure helped me.

In the real world I put out a hand to a crying pup. If it bites me,
I kick it across the yard. We need real support, not mutual
admiration societies here. Some "persons" do not fit any civil
society but always hustle. demand, demand., demand.

so girls can't be "brilliant high school students"? or does this just

I know one female, first knew her when she was a high schooler taking college
classes in the summer & later in college & we've kept up with each other over
the year. Brilliant HS student, college student, grad student, more after grad
student, and eventually brilliant researcher. She was the leader of the team
in MN that made major medical breakthrough news earlier this year. Yes, she
was even on a morning talk show because of it. The PR stuff drove her nuts &
she couldn't wait to get back to work.

Yeah, the gender-bias stuff, it's old news, but it gets in the way.

But, then, Science & Math have been emphasized for years now, too, so ...

Could you point out what you find bile here, rather than pertinent
information? Is it the reference to 'someone who speaks guy' because if so,
it's been discussed numerous times that most people have trouble following Guy
& he refuses to clarify, but that there are some people who can *some of the
time* take a stab at restating what they think Guy meant, while other times,
like right now in ASD for example, they've no idea.
