You may be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. DSL is typically
supplied by the local telco. They may have the same plans as Verizon.


This group may be able to charter under the "rec" group.

DSL speed can also be highly dependent on how close or far you are from
a service hub. Less of an issue in populated areas, but a big deal
where I live. The nearest DSL hub to me is across town, and my neighbor
once switched from cable to DSL, and DSL turned out to be slower than
his former dial-up service. So he went back to cable...

Where we live cable really is the best solution because we have a
fiber-optic net locally. I refused to subscribe for years until they
laid fiber on my street...so now I'm spoiled. Check around, and if you
have a fiber optic cable infrastructure available - do it!
