Hi Everyone,

It's been awhile since I wrote, but I wanted to let you know I finally
got referred!

Some may remember that last year, I had gone in to see a new family
doctor and he didn't want to send me to an endocrinologist because it
would look bad on him if he sent a patient with normal test results.

A few weeks ago, I went into that office and saw another doctor so I
could get a refill on a prescription. He's an older fellow and is new
to the clinic. At the end of the visit, he asked if there was
anything else he could do. I mentioned that I was looking for a new
family doctor and proceded to tell him the tale of the last doctor I
saw there and how I had been denied a referral. He asked why that was
and I told him that it was because the results were normal (he was a
little shocked when I told him that). He said "Well, I can see you
definitely have the symptoms so let's do another test and then I'll
refer you." (He had not done an exam since it was a short visit, so I
guess he could tell just by looking at me)

I went for blood tests last week (T3 was 1.58) and yesterday I got a
letter in the mail from the endocrinologist's office. My appointment
is in November.

Over the next few days, I will be gathering all of my medical records
for the past 14 years and making a chart of my thyroid results during
that time to see if there are changes. That way I can give that info
to the endocrinologist when I see her.

I would just like to get this worked out once and for all. :^)
