"etrenner". To wear or use soemthign new for the first time.
As I said in a previous post, I am trying to stretch XMas into the NYear,
so as to remember this is a brand new year...And I try and write the date
at least once a day, so as to not let one apss by, be it in awareness of a
new day passing by only, it already is more than nothin'.

Yesterday I wore my new hat and scarf for the first time.
Today, I will try to "etrenner" the new car air freshener that kiddo
found, hunting all he could to try and find one that would not have lemon
in it. Both he and I hope it truely has none, of course.
My idea is to bring it to work to install befoe leaving work, so that it
stays on the car all night. By next morning, I should know if it makes me
choke, and if so, the ride to work with all windows opened should help
clear the air some bit...

Yeserday kiddo called, as they got back from the Dominican Republic.
They left so fast for their New Year parties before hoping on a plane the
mornign of Jan 2, that their presents from everywhere were still stashed
in two seperate piles, where they were stunned at the amount of presents
they got from "everywhere" he said. Nice, that!:) I will not be the only
one to "etrenner" into the new year then!:)

Other than that, well, made managed to put away the dishes last evening, I
had enough for both the old and new rack, where so far I have to keep the
old one for cooking days, posts not fitting over the rest in the new rack.

Just ate chese last night, if I stopped at the grocery to get stuff for
supper. Again, too tired already on a Monday.

But as well, there wwas the English debate of the four main party leaders
on the telly last evening, Man, that was a long thing. Harper,
conseravtive elader, shwoed extenuated at a point. Like someoenm who had
not slept all night, He got a second wind near the end, probably someone
telling him in his headphone top shake up and wake up, he looked dead.

Candidates seemed to have been told to try and smile more. Most
politicians look stupid when they smile. Bad idea to try and make Harper
or Duceppe smile, more like a rictus they got when smiling on command:).
With another scandal of using taxpayers money for the Quebecergate
scandal, i.e. putting government money (millions and billions) for a campain
against a democratic provincial vote for the last referendum on
seperation (won/lost by a difference of 0.soemthign percent! Everyoen
imagines what it woudl have been without the bought votes and the illegal
capaing and theft of taxpayers' money)) --with another scandalthis time
linking the actual Premier directly to the QuebecGate scandals by the
federal government and federal party of opposition (conservtives too),
Martin did well, but nothing well enough to gain more votes. He will have
his usual voters, and the rest will divide in three main other options...

This evening will eb the second French debate, after we just ahd the
second English one.

Anglos must be sick and tired. Last evening all they seemed to talk about
was quebec, opposing quebec and bloc quebecois and quebec this and quebec
that, as if they forgot they were not holding this debate to win votes in
quebec only, far from it. Most have more to gain trying to get votes in
any other province in fact. In that, Duceppe made the topic happen to be
on Quebec. He and lso the fact of that new scandal coming out with the
checks (sic) handed to thousand of poeple by the federal liberals and so
on being produced, found by a journalist near a dumpster after a phone
call tip informing him of their being there....Is that not soemthing....

US Presidents were thrown out of their job for way less proof. And yet,
many will vote liberal again, cause they were among those who had such
checks, of course. Sigh.

Harper comes out like a Wannabe American, and that is rather worrying.
Yesterday, as he tried to smile, the resemblance of the look, he seeked
*image*, with Bush' made me freak out, Somethign in the eye, expression,
that was too identical. God spare us all...

I wish there was a box to check on a bulletin where one could check "none
of the above" where when they woudl get enough of those boxes
checked, theyd fore all leaders and find new ones, until poeple had
something they felt they would not hesitate to vote for.

Anyway.

Jan 10. A Tuesday. I hope my windshiled is not covered in 1/2 inch solid
ice to scarpe with nails and teeth. Hate that.

Neck and upper back/shoulders starting to rebel already from reading and
writing on too low tables and desks at work, where I will need to find
some other task to dai today. oo bad, what I had planned and cleared the
way for was eiditing another batch...But oh well, then again, the said
batch needs printed, and that takes some time, so.

Nothign else new under he sun save that my firnace makes an odd high note
vibrating-whistling sound I don't like. Worries me.
Specially when I am not there during the day and the epts are stuck inside
woudl soemthing go wrong. Gas furnace, so if soemthign goes wrong, it
usually is bad news.
Might just be that I heard better after my ears popped alst evening, and
maybe it always made that sound...But still, one woudl lie to be clear on
that, to be at peace....

Dead tired this morning, and the week only has begun.
Tonight, the French debate on tv. Starting tomorrow, going to bed earlier
until I catch up on sleep and feel less tired.

Gotta get dressed and grab that car air freshener thingie to "?trenner"
some more.

That should have read "one would die" and not "one would lie".

>
> could be a bearing going in the motor that drives the fan

At first I figured it had to be the fan spinning off balance, without
thinking bearings or any technical thing like that.
It still could be but...
When I open the furnace room door, the sopund is not there. The sound can
be heard only *outside* the furnace room, but in the basement (same floor
as furnace), or snding near the stairwell, so from the basement, no two
ways about it, but not in the furnace room (not in the basement itself: I
can hear it from the landing step to the basement door, but once I open
the basement door and walk in, it is clear the vobration is on "this" side
of the door.
I then wonder if it still could not be the fan, but the sound being
reverberated in the ducts, amplified, where at the furnace itself it would
not be heard...?
Another thing I wnder about is the dang thermostat. Lately it seems to be
dying or something. Either the house stays too cold or the furnace starts
and goes on and on even long after I steam up. So I winder if it would not
have ran all day yesterday, and...heated abnormally o soemthing, the motor
heating up or whatever, making some metal parts expand and tart wiggling
(...?). At any rate, wish I knew it was safe, nothing to worry about....
Left it at 15 today in hope that would it start, it would not go on madly...
It was cool when I walked in, so seems to have either not started or
stayed at 15. Just started it now, to warm the house before the night, so
I can turn it off for the night. It just stopped right now incidentally.
Seems the thermostat maybe works okay when lower than the comfortable
temperature. It must be 17 or so in the house right now....Thermostat
asking 17 or so, I mean, and the furnace seemign to stop properly once the
house is at 17....
I'll try and do that all week, and cross my fingers, and will hope to find
time this weekend to clear stuff in the basement: this way working there
I can maybe hear better what could be wrong, and there would be some room
made in sorting boxes and all that stuff in the basement for the landlord of
for the gas company to come and check things. The furnace was brand new
when I moved here. Must be 8 years old or so, max.

I don't wanna blow up, nah!:(

your gas company would'nt happen to have the same as they do here would
they? get a furnace, and have the price put on your gas bill.

I don't know about that Harper guy. I think he needs to get himself a
contact lens with slightly darker tint. Everytime I saw his ads, his
eyes give me a shudder. Not the kind of eyes that you could trust.
Well, perhaps a look should not be considered in choosing your
leader.... but it gives me second thoughts... lots of time. I wonder
if other readers have the same feeling about his eye!
