From: alfred on 31 May 2008 14:38 I was wondering if anyone knows what would happen if a person who has genital hsv1 slept with a person who has genital hsv2 and contracted the hsv2? Would the person who originally had just hsv1 start a primary outbreak all over again and go through a "year of hell" or just have more frequent outbreaks of the same or nothing different at all? I'm just curious, because I can't seem to find the answer anywhere else... Also...its been awfully quiet in here! I miss the good ole days with mike, m2, angela, perl and eric and all the crazy disputes we had! Well maybe not all of the disputes, but it was good when everyone was joining in here. Al

It's possible to contract both infections but, like you, I haven't seen much info on what the symptoms would be. I suspect it would vary among individuals just like any herpes infection does. >Also...its been awfully quiet in here! At one time we had a wealth of knowledge concentrated here, ranging from legitimate scientists and researchers like Tim Fitzmaurice to just really smart laymen that had done their homework. There's a long list of those. I learned a lot here. But Usenet isn't for everybody. It takes a certain amount of skill in filtering out the noise (spammers, trolls, sock puppets, etc) which can be rather distracting at times. And for some reason, lots of people moved to the Web, even with all its limitations. a.s.h. was always my favorite though. But time marches on. M2

I should have read more (and put my brain in gear) before I posted that. But I haven't kept up here for quite awhile and I just happened to be passing through. The person with the eventual cure may be reading and posting here these days and I wouldn't know it. But just looking at the traffic numbers it looks like things have slowed quite a bit. As long as it's still living and breathing though, it could come back as busy as it ever was. I hope it will some day. M2

Hi back Mama XS-Z10 .... or whatever lol! :-) I remember you but I don't see your posts under that exact name. Did it start with something other that "xs"? And seems like you had a different name even before that. Can't remember now. Do you have Whitlow on the palm of your hand? .... or maybe I'm confusing that with someone eles. It's been awhile. Anyhow, it's good to see you still here :-) M2
