From: Bob on 27 Nov 2005 16:54 I haven't been around here in a long time, so please excuse a broad question like this. I have an old Respironics CPAP that I have used for almost a decade. My insurance provider has finally agreed to let me have a new one. The company i deal with has the GoodKnight 420G, a Respironics unit (not sure which), and the S8 Resmed. Any help selecting, or pointers to review websites, etc. would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks, Bob

In combination with the AutoScan software you can see what is happening during the night. See as an example my Autoscan output via my pages at http://home.wanadoo.nl/w.h.vogelaar/marfan/apnea/ or go directly to some of my graphs at: http://home.wanadoo.nl/w.h.vogelaar/marfan/apnea/whv20051116graph.gif http://home.wanadoo.nl/w.h.vogelaar/marfan/apnea/whv20051117graph.gif http://home.wanadoo.nl/w.h.vogelaar/marfan/apnea/whv20051118graph.gif http://home.wanadoo.nl/w.h.vogelaar/marfan/apnea/whv20051119graph.gif http://home.wanadoo.nl/w.h.vogelaar/marfan/apnea/whv20051120graph.gif The S8 vantage is also very small, what is convenient when travelling. From: Quick on 28 Nov 2005 12:12 Any APAP can be set to run as a CPAP by setting the upper and lower pressure limits to be the same. -Quick Wim Vogelaar wrote: >> Any help selecting, or pointers to review websites, etc. >> would be sincerely appreciated. >> >> Thanks, Bob > > The ResMed S8 Vantage allows you to switch between CPAP > and APAP mode. This may be too late to help, but if you travel a lot, I'd highly recommend The GoodKnight 420G. I love mine! It's quiet enough that it doesn't bother my spouse, and small and light enough to be very easy to pack. Mine is two years old, and I really much prefer it.
