From: agent starling on 6 Aug 2008 09:16 I was on Armour thyroid but since the present issues of getting it (i asked my pharmacist about problems with the Armour he said it's a materials issue) they dont have enough materials to make it he said. It's funny in the past i was on Thyrolar and was doing great on it and then they stopped making it too (in the past) and had to finally be put on Armour. Funny now it's having problems. Does Forest labs think we are stupid, natural thyroid is better, now they are having troubles with Armour. Most doctors prescribe the synthetic with no problems (isn't that funny). Oh and i asked the pharmacist yesterday about Thyrolar now (nope no problems with it he says). Me rolling my eyes!! UGH!! Now i am going to my doctor to have him write a prescription for the Thyrolar now hopefully they wont have anymore problems!! Is anyone else having problems that has been on the natural for a while?? I have been on it for at least a year now. Does anyone else see that doctors seem to have no problems wanting to put you back on synthetic?? That's usually their first answer!! I think not!! I like the natural hormone better. Clarice
From: Elizabeth on 6 Aug 2008 11:19 I would also be interested to know what the status is in different places of getting Armour. I am not on it but may consider switching to it soon. I don't want to set myself up for trouble, though. From: district on 6 Aug 2008 12:10 I'm in DC and have absolutely no problems getting it. Keep hearing about it on this board and wondering if it's going to happen here. I take 90 mg in the morning and 30 mg at night. No problems with either of those doses - I understand it's certain doses that might be hard to get....? If your having troubles getting it she has several ways to try to get it through other sources if you need to. But i am just going to see if my doctor will write my prescription tomorrow for the Thyrolar again and just get back on it. Clarice
