To Marilyn Bachman
Thank you, Marilyn, for posting about the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers! As I said I would, I went to the Seattle informational seminar today (Tuesday). I was impressed with the philosophy of the center: The main goal is to get the patient well again..as well as the patient can be. They will try anything the... 8 Feb 2006 20:27
synthroid increase -> racing pulse ?
My TSH was 6.425. Endocrinologist didn't tell me the lab ranges and tested only TSH. But Dr increased my dosage of Levothyroxine from 37.5 mcg to 50 mcg. (Generic Levothyroxine, not brand name Synthroid) Today was the first day of the increased dose. About 90 minutes after taking the pills my pulse was racin... 7 Feb 2006 12:34
Something worked but not sure what
Perhaps some smart person here can answer this. I had my Synthroid dosage upped from 100 to 112 just after Christmas. I really wasn't feeling very good even after that so I went to see a naturopath about 5 weeks after my dosage increased. Within a few days I was feeling pretty good and now two weeks later I ... 20 Feb 2006 05:40
thyroid question, hope you can help
Hi, I am 37 years old and always had trouble with losing weight, and have always had a thick kneck. I've been tested many many times for HYPO thyroid, my levels always come back normal. To make a long story short, I found a doctor (not an endocro.) to let me try Armour 90 mg to help with with my depression, dry s... 6 Feb 2006 14:09
brazil nuts
Someone on a low-carb group stated this in regard to my slow thyroid: "You could encourage your thyroid by eating a brazil nut a day - selenium is important in the T3->T4 conversion, and a single nut provides all you need." Do you eat brazil nuts and find them beneficial? Chris ... 16 Feb 2006 14:26
TSH is not the only
Partner has just pointed me at the first of these links, and I followed a link there to the second. Just in case anyone is having difficulty in understanding or explaining the inappropriateness of excessive reliance on TSH for determining proper treatment, these help to explain. <http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi... 6 Feb 2006 08:57
Soy and thyroid
Has anyone done any research on the link between soy products and thyroid problems? I've read a few articles, but am leary of reading what the FDA has to say. They claim that pesticides are fine while claiming that soy causes thyroid problems. Kind of hard to listen to anything that they claim while stating that... 4 Feb 2006 00:19

Dosing Questions
Hi all, I've been struggling for over a year now, trying to get my doses of Levothyroxine/Cytomel right. Two weeks ago, just as I began to feel better due to an increase to 37.5 at about the 6 week mark, I began to develop heart palpitations, mostly in the evening when I lie down, spells lasting a few minutes. ... 31 Jan 2006 16:04
thyroid is painful sometimes
I had a very painful thyroid last night, it felt sore and kind of felt tense/strained. I used to have this a lot in the past before treatment. It happens when I feel stressed, but doesn't hurt for too long. Is this normal? Thanks everyone. ... 31 Jan 2006 10:49
