Fibroids & Hypo
Hi. I missed the main thread about possible connection of fibroids and being hypo thyroid. Being female, fat, forty's (almost 50), hypo, pre menopausal, I was just diagnosed with fibroids that are presenting some classic symptoms. (I also need to be rechecked for an abnormal pap which I know is a different issu... 9 Jan 2006 17:32
NHS TSH, T4 & T3 testing
We have just found out that the reason for partner not getting T4 & T3 results (now on three occasions) is that they must be requested by a consultant. (TSH tests seem not to be a problem at all.) We have only found this out by going through a formal complaints mechanism with the local PCT. This is staggering ... 19 Jan 2006 17:07

Graves Disease
Hi Everybody. I'm new to this group - and to the idea of joining groups too. About 2.5 years ago, I was diagnosed with Graves. What followed was a time of drug therapy. When that didn't seem to work I also threw in 3 weekly visits to an acupuncturist. All the while, I was also taking homoeopathic remedies. Bu... 10 Jan 2006 13:59
selenium & thyroid antibodies
Since being diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I've frequently seen mention of the importance of selenium in converting T4 to T3. It seems that selenium may also play a big role in the reduction of thyroid antibodies, according to this study: http://iospress.metapress.com/openurl.asp?genre=article&issn=0951-643... 6 Jan 2006 06:38
Hashimoto's or Ord's
As I have researched my partner's autoimmune thyroiditis I am struck by the naming of the disease. Most often, I see that autoimmune thyroiditis is called Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. (See the definition at <http://www.endocrineweb.com/thyroiditis.html> ). In Hashimoto's, the thyroid enlarges and this appears to... 5 Jan 2006 09:53
Methotrexate 4th week
I've just started my 4th week. My fT4 is at 21 (10-30), the same as last week but my TSH has risen slightly to 0.5 from 0.4 last week. The highest it's been since I've been on thyroxin is 0.13 in October 2003 when my fT4 was 19 so early indications are still that the Graves antibodies do suppress the TSH. My eye... 5 Jan 2006 09:53
Ultrasound
Hi, I posted a little while ago about an enlarged thyroid and associated symptons. I have since had an ultrasound that I am hoping someone can help me decipher. Unfortunately I didn't get the range of blood test results from my Dr (other than they were within normal range). I have just had an ultrasound which had ... 29 Dec 2005 21:29
Progression of Hashimoto's
