The "J-curve" -- Re: Life Coping Issues
kgrhoads I am not a fan of this J curve! I suppose I went through all that detail in my response to Elizabeth to point out that this is definitely a pattern. I understand that it's common. What is disturbing to me is that the curve is getting deeper each time. And what I wonder is if it's necessary. Is it pos... 22 Apr 2008 16:27
Life Coping Issues
Hi everyone I've posted a few times, I'm hypothyroid, have been treated with Synthroid for about 8 months now. Not at my optimal dose yet. I've mentioned in the past that I'm having a hard time with my moods - although I've dealt with depression and anxiety for about as long as I can remember, I've been feeli... 23 Apr 2008 07:41
thyroid and vitamin D
I heard thyroid hormone receptors are related or interact somehow with the receptors of vitamin D (which is a hormone also). Zinc is involved here in a certain way too. Now I understand why my first endo (a holistic one) advised me to take zinc. What about sunbathing, is it O.K. for thyroid patients? ... 23 Apr 2008 00:25
New Chemokine Research
Rather hoping that someone understands this rather better than I do! If you do, please explain it! I have never before seen anything that explains anything of the way that apparently similar autoimmune processes can cause Graves in one person but Hashimoto's in another. Does this help? "Circulating Chemok... 22 Apr 2008 00:48

My doctor agreed to order the test for me.... I have 4 sample tubes. Now I have to figure out WHEN to sample! The lab I use already thinks I'm a bit ou... 21 Apr 2008 18:59

appetite, glucose, weight
Hi all, I have a question. What is experience of others with influence of pills (both levothyroxine and armour) on appetite, weight, glucose in blood? I've noticed that my appetite has reduced a bit after starting the medication. I've almost lost my "sweet tooth", much lower cravings for candies and cookies. But... 21 Apr 2008 01:57
atrial fibrillation T3 and TSH
I am taking 120mg Armour thyroid daily. My recent test results were: TSH 0.01 (0.50-8.90) T4 7.3 (4.7-13.3) FT4 0.72 (0.60-1.61) T3 84.5 (41-202) FT3 2.0 (1.8-4.2) With the TSH suppressed, the FT3 and FT4 are near the bottom 10% of their range.
