From: Billy Boy on 15 Jul 2007 11:11 Hello, There is a book "The Low Blood Sugar Handbook" by Edward and Patricia Krimmel that costs only $12.95 available at most bookstores. Edward Krimmel suffered with Low Blood Sugar (LBS) for many years before he learned what the problem was and how to help reduce the symptoms of LBS. This was after seeing many medical doctors and many never diagnosed LBS. Krimmel writes in plain, simple language that is easily understood by everyone. The book explains why the Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT) is not always accurate and does not help resolve the problem. The main reason is because the GTT is simply a snapshot of a particular time. This snapshot will vary depending on what you have consumed for several hours before the test, your frame of mind, etc. etc. The book further explains how while the blood sugar content in your blood at a particular time is important, more important is how fast your blood sugar changes from a high to a low or drops. This is the main problem with LBS and the book further shows how to maintain a steady level of blood sugar in your body at all times. The book and it's teachings have been a life saver for me. There is one change I recommend. I substitute Kefir for Yogurt. They are first cousins but Kefir has many more probiotics and probiotics are good for your intestinal flora and helps maintain a balance between the "good biotics" and the "bad biotics". Search the Internet for Kefir and probiotics and you will learn about the importance for keeping a balanced good intestinal flora. It all works. I have no connection to the book, Kefir or anything. Just trying to share with fellow sufferers of LBS how you can help yourself. Good luck. Feel free to contact me via email poston8(a)comcast.net or by phone at 770-421-6776 if you have any questions.
