I'm certainly enjoying my break from work; I really needed the time to
gather myself. I think this recession is the best thing that could have
happened to me right now. My little sabbatical has proven tremendously
beneficial for my emotional well-being. When I eventually re-enter the
work force I'll be rejuvenated and much more productive.

My compatriots would call me a lazy bum, who is mooching off of society,
but I say their extreme work ethic is decidedly unhealthy; people weren't
meant to live that way. And after 30 years in the workforce, I think I
deserve a break.

Taking time off to heal yourself isn't mooching off society in my books.
Over and over again we see people who are slavishly devoted to their jobs
but their employers aren't slavishly devoted to them. At the first sign of
trouble they dump people left and right. It's all one-sided.
