From: 2ndaccount127 on 22 Sep 2008 20:04 Hi! I am wondering if any of your experiences can give me some insight and advice regarding this situation. About a month after the operation, I stated taking 20 mg of Levitra in an attempt to get impotence out of the way but to no avail. After about 3 months with no response whatsoever, my urologist said that the answer was "the needle". Well, he injected my "first" needle! The ongoing pain from this was so bad that I took 2 Tylenol 3 to alleviate it. I didn't bother filling out the prescription (can't read it so don't know what the drug is). Is there any hope or advice. It's not the end of the world if there isn't :). Thanks! Was the pain from the erection? Or from the stick. Most people have no pain with the stick. And, you're supposed to start with just a little to get a handle on how much it's going to take. I have heard of people who have no success with Viagra (like me) or Caverject (pretty much like me), but with good success from "Tri-mix". I lost my desire before I got to Tri-mix, but if I ever get it back, I'm going to try it.

From: Jim on 23 Sep 2008 08:27 Ernie, I had a somewhat similar experience. After a couple of months on daily Viagra to no avail the clinic recommended the "needle" while continuing the Viagra plus daily use of a vacuum erection device. The Viagra and the VED were supposedly to get blood flow to the penis even if we didn't use the VED to enable intercourse. My first injection (given by the nurse in the clinic) hurt quite a lot and produced only a very weak erection. I'm assuming it was something like Bimix in that it was compounded from two actives at the pharmacy - but I'm not really sure. Anyway, it wasn't labeled as a name brand like Bimix. Instruction were to use the stuff twice a week with each dose increased over the last until I got a useable erection. That took a while. Sometimes the injection hurt, sometimes not at all. It wasn't specific to the side of the penis I injected. The pain was quite substantial, lasting as long as I pushed the plunger on the syringe. Then it subsided to more of a dull ache. I did eventually get to a dose that worked. The erection was the "greatest" but certainly adequate for penetration. If you haven't already, I recommend you talk to your health care provider, describe your experience and ask for suggestions. Ernie, I meant to say that the erection WASN'T the "greatest" but certainly adequate for penetration.
