I asked my pros why he gave (lol) me the pin/lock instead of the
suction, since I've got a skin graft and the suction is supposed to be
easier on the stump. He said that was true, but my stump is very
short and conical, and suction sockets work better with longer,
cylindrical stumps.

Tom,
I use a suction socket and for sometime because of my excessive sweating, my
technician wanted to switch me to a pin/lock socket but I stopped with the
excessive sweating. They informed me that the suction socket was the newest
design but some people can not use them so they have to wear the pin/lock.
I figure what ever it takes to get one walking again is good.
