A Natural Solution for Teenage Angst
Hello Fellow Step Parents: I just read through an interesting article on Yahoo that talks about one way that they deal with "teenage angst" over in Sweden and Scandinavia. They have a plant there that helps them with maintaining a positive mood, helps the kids focus on school, better clarity for exams, etc. Anyw... 20 Apr 2007 12:32
Been over a year!
Amazing! It's been well over a year since she moved out, and they are still together. My stepdaughter (now 19) moved out of my home last year when I made it clear to both her and her mother that I was not living in a two-family household. At the time, marital problems were severe enough to merit eliminating as many... 20 Apr 2007 10:25
Ultimatum..
I finally did it. I told both Chewy and YD that the behavior changes, period, that I'm not living like this any more. YD actually handled it better than Chewy did. Of course, she's also looking forward to being out on her own in a year or so. He's looking forward to it being just the two of us in a couple year... 29 Apr 2007 01:15
my stepchild!
I have been a step-parent to an emotionally disturbed little girl who is 8 years old for 4 years now. As her step mom I am sad to say that I don't have loving, cuddly feelings toward this little child. She was a baby that was physically abused by her bio-mom and was placed in foster care when she was about 3 months... 19 Apr 2007 22:19
Thank you for inisghtful replies
I anxiously awaited responses after posting for the first time yesterday. Thank you to all that provided feedback. I do need to recognize this as a parenting issue and not just a step- parent issue. It can be hard somedays to understand my feelings and recognize them as normal. In response to Vicki, I tend to be th... 10 Apr 2007 11:07
my internal feelings
This is my first post. I have been married almost three years now and have a beautiful 13 year old SD. Her biological mom passed away of cancer five years ago. One might think that she would be full of anger and unaccepting of me but it is quite the opposite. She is gentle and warm and respects me as if I was her b... 9 Apr 2007 23:02
Am I wrong?
Anyone tell me if they think I am wrong? I have a 16y daughter who has been living with my wife and our two children for two years. So thats my wife having a SD. Wife has become clinically depressed (I am sure of this due to the fact that she fails every test on the net for depression.) I have tried to get her to c... 8 May 2007 16:02
Okay, ladies
I recall a thread a while back about this. I certainly never expected to be in this position, but...my 14 year-old SD has head lice. She's had them for at least 2 months, maybe three, and has been being treated for 4-5 weeks. The lice persist. She's been treated twice - the first for sure with Nix, the second t... 11 Apr 2007 13:52
