I'm just looking for an explanation of something that has happened for the
last ten years or more, I'm wondering if anyone can help?

I have a situation where my heart does odd beats. At night it always follows
a similar pattern and happens when I lay down to go to sleep. It's like four
normal beats, one 'early' beat (it beats very quickly after the fourth
normal beat), then a pause .. then the same again, over and over. It can
happen for two minutes or twenty minutes. If I lay on my right side .. it
triggers it ... my left, not so much.

During the day, if I inadvertantly find myself in a 'squat' position, (with
my bum on my knees, leant forward) .. it also tends to trigger an odd
pattern, which I immediately feeel as several 'big beats' in my chest.

If I am working out hard in the gym .. occasionally I'll get a pattern where
my heart is beating quickly, then very slowly for a few seconds, then
quickly again.

Apparently for the rest of the time, it beats away normally.

I have had a scan, and apparently everything looks normal. I had an ECG
which did not capture any of the odd beats, so was also deemed normal.

Thanks

Tony

Did you have a 24 hour holter monitor? It's an ECG that monitors
for 24 hours. If you do get one, make sure you get some data while
wearing it:
ie... lay on your right side
squat down a few times
work out hard in the gym while wearing it
Just try your best to reproduce your symptoms and get
them recorded on the holter..

Then your doctors might be able to see something and
tell you something.

Good luck to you.
